Fear has a New Face

The Horror Show is no stranger to scares. The Horror Show was haunted before it be came a haunt. Since the 1930's the house and the property have been experiencing strange and unexplained supernatural activity. As the little known story was told a horrific occurrence had taken place on this site. On a fateful night in 1930 a local man and his family of four were listening to Orson Wells October 30th broadcast of "War of the Worlds" on their radio. Before the broadcast was finished Orson Wells had sent the entire nation into a tailspin of fear and unfortunately for this local Snow Camp man he believed in the unknown and it was all too real. In his own mind the "end of time" had come. He feared his family would be taken away, possibly meeting their fate at the hands of this dark force.

He promptly gathered his family, his guns and some ammunition. He then retreated to this site on Bass Mountain on this chilly October night. In total and complete fear they quietly waited for the arrival of this dark force. For any sound that was heard sent them deeper and deeper into panic.. until by 2 am on October 31st the man could live in fear no more. He took his own life and his family into utter and complete darkness.

In the fall month of October when there is no moon and utter darkness envelopes the property...their chilling whisperings can still be heard.

ORIGINALITY :

The HORROR SHOW was created in 1989 by 2 North Carolina natives who had established a career in the Hollywood film business and returned to share their knowledge and experience in the form of a “HOLLYWOOD” STYLE HAUNTED HOUSE.

The HORROR SHOW was the 1st professionally operated haunted house in the state of North Carolina and still remains the largest to date.

The HORROR SHOW creators Dean and Starr Jones are current filmmakers that have maintained over 2 decades of film and television credits complete with 2 Emmy Awards and 6 nominations.
